Maruti Ciaz BS6 launched – new variant introduced » MotorOctane

Maruti has introduced its new top-end Ciaz S variant. It is basically the sports version of the Ciaz. It is priced at Rs 10.08 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Maruti Ciaz BS6 starts at Rs 8.31 lakhs and goes up to Rs 11.09 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant, the Alpha AT.

Maruti Ciaz S – what’s new

The Maruti Ciaz S model comes with a host of cosmetic changes. It comes with a signature dual-tone body colour. The front bumper has been revised with silver elements being replaced with black. The rocker panels and ORVMs have been painted black. It also gets a boot lid spoiler and new all-black 16-inch alloy wheels.

Not just the exterior, the interior also has a sporty theme. The interiors feature a new black theme with premium silver accents on the dashboard and door handles. The Maruti Ciaz S is available in three colours – Sangria Red, Premium Silver and Pearl Snow White. This particular model will be able to attract a lot of car enthusiasts. This will eventually help Suzuki meet its sales targets. However, it will have the same engine and performance as other Maruti Ciaz trims.

BS6 Engine

Maruti Suzuki has discontinued its 1.5-litre and 1.3-litre diesel engines. The 2020 Maruti Ciaz BS6 will only have a 1.5-litre petrol engine option for now.

The 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15B petrol engine produces 104.7 PS of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a five-speed manual or optional four-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The engine will retain Suzuki’s mild hybrid technology (SHVS) for better fuel economy.
