Saucony Hurricane 24 Review: Here I Am, Shake Me Like A…

Introduction to Saucony Hurricane 24

CHAD: One of my mom’s favorite expressions is, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease.” For those who don’t know this idiom, it basically means that if you make enough noise about a problem, it’s more likely to get fixed. The Saucony Hurricane’s reappearance in version 24 is a perfect example of how this cliché has some truth to it.

Saucony Hurricane fans were less than thrilled when they learned that the Hurricane would be discontinued after 23 models. Saucony offered a replacement in the Tempus, but for Hurricane enthusiasts, it was an empty gesture. But after much scrutiny of the decision, the Hurricane rose like a phoenix from the ashes with an entirely new style that Saucony called a “fundamental transformation.”

The Hurricane 24 features dual-density foams, with a full-length plate of soft and flexible PWRRUN PB underfoot and a cradle of firm and responsive PWRRUN underneath. It also features CenterPath Technology, which Saucony claims provides runners with comfort and protection. The CenterPath features higher sidewalls, a wide platform, and a rocker profile to keep you moving straight with every stride. It has a 6mm drop and weighs 10.6oz for a US M9, so it’s not the lightest shoe on the market; it’s definitely heavier than the Tempus.
