To help narrow down your search, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries publishes a monthly report on the best-selling cars in Australia, showing which models are the most popular on our roads. Check this page for regular updates on the best-selling cars, the best-sellers for June 2024 are listed below:

#1 Ford Ranger – 6,289 sales

Initially featuring a line-up of Single Cab, Double Cab and Super Cab XL models, Ford has expanded the range to include XL, XLS, XLT, WildTrak and Raptor models for drivers to choose from. Featuring features such as 800mm of wading depth, e-Lock Rear Differential and Hill Descent Control, the latest Ford Ranger models should be enough to get you excited for an outback adventure.

Additional features include SYNC3 integration, Smart Keyless Entry and a 4.2-inch Multi-Function Display on most models, and each range is available with both petrol and diesel engines. Having sold more than 6,200 models in June, Ford’s flagship is still proving to be a hugely popular vehicle for Australian drivers to get behind the wheel of.

#2 Toyota HiLux – 5,630 sales

The Toyota HiLux has consistently been the car to beat, demonstrating its popularity among Australian drivers over the last few years. The Toyota HiLux sold over 5,600 units in June, showing it is still the leader in the Australian market.

Within the HiLux range, drivers can choose from a range of options including the single-cab WorkMate, four-door SR and off-road-ready Rogue and Rugged X models, with petrol and diesel variants also available. If you’re looking to customise your new car, you won’t be disappointed with the HiLux, which comes with a range of extras to suit your commute or next weekend adventure; trays, canopies, bullbars and comfort seats are available to purchase.

#3 Toyota RAV4 – 3,907 sales

Having sold more than 3,900 units in June, the Toyota RAV4 is available in GX, GXL, XSE, Cruiser and Edge varieties, giving drivers a variety of options when it comes to getting behind the wheel. Drivers can also choose between a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission for the majority of the RAV4 lineup, while the Edge is equipped with an 8-speed automatic, and most models are also available with 2WD or AWD options – including electric AWD.

RAV4 models, which are offered with Toyota’s Safety Sense, which includes features such as Collision Prevention Safety System, Lane Departure Warning, Active Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Monitoring System, are mostly equipped with a 2.0L hybrid engine, while the Edge model has a 2.5L gasoline engine under the hood, suitable for those who want to keep their feet firmly on the ground.

#4 Mitsubishi Outlander – 3,045 sales

One of Mitsubishi’s most popular models, the Outlander, sold more than 3,000 units in June. Introducing its fourth generation, the Outlander is available in a 5- or 7-passenger model, making it convenient for drivers no matter how many people you’re taking on a road trip.

Featuring Mitsubishi Motors Intuitive Technology (known as MiTEC), the Outlander includes safety features such as Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist, as well as Hill Start Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control for an easier journey wherever you go. The Outlander is also available in 2WD or AWD, and is offered in ES, LS, Aspire, Exceed and Exceed Tourer models.

#5 Tesla Model Y – 2,906 sales

The Model Y, the smaller sibling of the Model X, also aims to offer just as much value as its siblings. The Model Y has a dual motor with four-wheel drive that can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. It also has a range of over 500 km on a single charge. It also offers many comforts for the driver and passengers, such as a 15-inch touchscreen, a UV-protected glass roof and more than 2,100 litres of cargo space.

With more than 2,900 units sold in June, the Model Y is proving to be a popular model and the month’s best-selling electric model in Australia, proving that interest in electric models is growing as technology and choice expands and improves.

#6 Isuzu D-Max – 2,881 sales

Known for its range of commercial trucks, Japanese manufacturer Isuzu UTE has offered its flagship D-MAX model since 2002, with the range split mainly into SX and LS, with an X-Terrain model also available. Having sold over 2,800 units in June, the Isuzu UTE is proving to be a popular choice for those looking for a new ute.

With Crew Cab, Space Cab and Single Cab variants, most models have a 3.0L diesel engine under the hood, with a turbocharger upgrade available on select models. The D-Max comes with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission, and features a leather interior and infotainment unit for driver and passenger comfort, as well as a 3.5-ton towing capacity on select models.

#7 Mazda CX-5 – 2,687 sales

Mazda’s flagship SUV, the CX-5, is proving that it still has what it takes in the SUV market, with more than 2,600 units sold in June. Available in multiple models including the CX-5, Maxx, Maxx Sport, Touring, GT and Akera, the CX-5 provides plenty of comfort and safety for drivers, with a 360° View Monitor and a 7-inch LCD infotainment unit available on selected models, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control for added convenience.

Now available with a turbocharged SKYACTIV-G 2.5T engine capable of producing 140–170 kW, the CX-5 also includes i-ACTIV AWD, which uses real-time data from 27 different monitors to enhance driver safety, whatever the conditions. For those who want to step on the gas, a Kuroi Sports package can be purchased to help personalize your drive, along with 19-inch alloy wheels and cargo lighting.

#8 Ford Everest – 2,267 sales

The Ford Everest, which first rolled off the production line in 2003, is now in its second generation, with more than 2,200 units sold as of June. The Everest is available in multiple models, including Ambiente, Trend, Sport and Titanium, and most models are available with rear-wheel drive or 4WD capabilities.

The entry-level Ambiente features a 3.2L diesel engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, two USB ports, an 8-inch infotainment unit, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster, satellite navigation, 17-inch alloy wheels and rear park assist, while the Titanium has a 2.0L bi-turbo diesel engine capable of producing 157kW with a 10-speed transmission.

#9 Toyota Corolla – 2,232 sales

With more than 2,200 units sold in June, the Toyota Corolla has been among the most popular small cars for some time now, offering a wide range of models including hatchbacks, sedans and hybrids, including the Ascent Sport, SX and ZR.

The latest models are available across the range with seven airbags, a 2.0L Dynamic Force direct injection petrol or 1.8L VVT-i hybrid engine, Active Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Safety and Lane Departure Warning for increased safety. If you’re looking for something a little extra, additional features include wireless phone charging, an 8-speaker JBL sound system and heated front seats to help you make the most of your time behind the wheel.

#10 Toyota Camry – 2,013 sales

Arguably one of the most popular sedans to hit Australian roads, the Toyota Camry has been rolling off the production line since 1982 and the model is currently in its 8th generation.pearl With more than 2,000 units sold in June, the Toyota Camry has proven to be a popular choice for those looking for a traditional car size.

Available in Ascent, Ascent Sport, SX or SL models, the Toyota Camry is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit on most models, a 9-speaker sound system, a Head-up Display to help you keep your eyes on the road (SL model only) and all the amenities of Toyota Connected Services to help you travel comfortably and safely on long journeys.
