TR/ST Announces New Album ‘Performance’ – New Noise Magazine

Dark electronic-pop artist TR/ST (formerly Trust) has announced her latest album. YieldThe album is scheduled to be released on September 13 via Dais Records. Along with the new album news, the album’s lead single “All At Once” is also expected to be released.

TR/ST is the musical project of producer, vocalist, and artist Robert Alfons. He has been captivating audiences with his dynamic vocals and soulful lyrics for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, but has lived in Los Angeles for the past decade. Since then, he has released a series of acclaimed albums that combine synth-pop with dark-wave and anthemic emotion. In late 2023, TR/ST signed to Dais Records.

Yield Recorded in Los Angeles, it’s filled with songs of fear, lust, reckoning, and abandonment. TR/ST produced the collection with versatile composer/producer Night Feelings, achieving a thick, smoky balance of eerie synths, fog machine lows, and a wounded, murmuring voice. The album’s title comes from a friend’s remark about Alfons’ performative nature.

The music moves between beauty and pain, anthem and agony, the sound of melancholy becoming immense. Throughout each track, Alfons wields pop dynamics and somber production wizardry like a weapon. Alfons’ voice is an anchor in the storm, singing a collage of impressions and confessions with a smudged, stream-of-consciousness logic. He is both observer and instigator, performer and playwright, liberated by the stage and the night.
