Discounted Mercedes-AMG C 43 is coming

AUSTRALIAN Mercedes-AMG buyers can now take advantage of a limited-edition model featuring the brand’s three-pointed star.

Announced this week, the C 43 4Matic Edition R brings a lower entry price and performance-focused equipment for an impressive $112,600 plus on-road costs. This puts the limited-edition variant $38,000 below the sticker price of the C 43 sedan on which it is based.

The C 43 4Matic Edition R includes a number of exterior and interior changes, including Mercedes-AMG’s Night Package II with dark chrome grille and emblems, red-painted brake calipers and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Importantly, this version also includes Mercedes-AMG’s Dynamic Plus package, which includes dynamic engine mounts and the Track Pace data recorder.

Inside, the version is equipped with AMG sports seats in a combination of Microcut and Artico material with contrasting red inserts and stitching, red seat belts, metallic instrument panel trim and a steering wheel in a combination of leather and Microcut.

The power keeps coming, courtesy of Mercedes-AMG’s 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces a respectable 300kW of power and 500Nm of torque. It’s supported by 48-volt mild hybrid electrification and paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear-biased all-wheel drive as standard.

However, while it shaves $40,000 off the C 43’s list price, the Edition R skips some of the trim niceties. Omitted from the build scheme are augmented reality sat-nav, Digital Light headlights with adaptive high beam, the Driver Assistance Pack (essentially the ‘stop and go’ component of the car’s adaptive cruise control), heat and sound insulating glass and Urban Guard vehicle protection.

The 2024 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Edition R is on sale.
