Illuminati Hotties Release Title Track From New Album ‘Power’

illuminati hotties, the project of musical genius and GRAMMY award-winning producer and engineer Sarah Tudzin, release the title track from their upcoming album POWER, set for release on August 23rd via Hopeless Records.

“‘Power’ is a reckoning with mortality,” Sarah says of the song. “It was the song I avoided writing every time I sat down with a guitar, until it fell from my hands. In it, I ask over and over again, how am I expected to function in this earthly existence after the death of my mother, who selflessly gave me confidence, who instilled in me my strength? There are no answers and no signs.”

Power is not a record of sorrow. It is not a record of love. Instead, it is a record of real life, a reflection of everything Tudzin has endured or enjoyed in the long stretch since the last party of the Illuminati Hotties. Sorrow, joy, and the busyness of modern existence are laced throughout these 13 songs, characters, and circumstances, sometimes exaggerated not just for effect but to provide a modest buffer between Tudzin’s world and the contents of his words.

“Power” follows “Didn’t” featuring Cavetown in early June, and he’s found himself in demand as a producer and engineer. He’s worked on records by Boygenius, Weyes Blood, Speedy Ortiz, Cloud Nothings and more, earning a GRAMMY as one of the most exciting new talents on the scene.

The Illuminati hotties will be hitting the road in September for a North American tour, with all dates listed below. Known for their explosive and charismatic live shows, these dates are selling out fast and are not to be missed.
