Gordo Teases New Drake Music by Revealing Mysterious Release Date

Gordo really rose to prominence in the 2020s. He’s been DJing for nearly two decades, but his collaborations with Drake introduced him to a whole new audience. Unsurprisingly, Gordo and Drake have stayed in touch and continued to collaborate. Gordo went so far as to suggest that a new collaboration would be released later in the week. He shared a video and a photo with the words “July 12th” written on it. The content in both posts is either the height of trolling or a genuine introduction to the new Drake.

The video shared by Gordo on Instagram, Clearly podcast. The producer is not visible in the video, but Andrew Schulz and others on the panel referenced him working with Drizzy. “(Drake) does something similar,” the panelist explained. “He did it with Gordo. He saw people messing with it and he did it.” The aforementioned photo is designed to evoke the 6 Gods even more explicitly. It’s a photo of Drake’s Toronto mansion taken from inside a vehicle. The top of both posts says July 12, which coincides with the standard Friday launch date for new music.

Gordo Has Been Hinting At New Drake Music Since May

It’s worth noting that Gordo has cried wolf before. In May, he shared a photo alongside producer Drake, writing, “Readers for Summer 2024…” It got so much attention that the IG photo was reposted by DJ Akademiks. As we all know, there was no new Gardo and Drake to follow. A generous reading would be that the release was delayed and the song Gardo was referencing was actually the one he was hinting at for July 12. But if nothing comes from either artist by this Friday, Gordo’s credibility as a source will start to wane.

Gordo isn’t the only one claiming that Drake has new music on the way. DJ Akademiks claimed that fans should get ready during a Twitch stream on July 8th. Unlike Gordo, Akademiks’ claim was straightforward and simple. “Drake has new music ootw,” he told his viewers. “And that’s fye… trust me.” The internet personality was so adamant about the impending release that he even denied rumors from other outlets. When fans theorized that Drake would sample Michael Jackson’s “Man In the Mirror,” Ak slammed the story. “Not true,” he tweeted . The good news is, fans won’t have to wait much longer.
