Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra at its Samsung Unpacked event on July 10. Here’s what’s new, how much the watches cost, and all the key features.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Release Date

The Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra were available for pre-order immediately after their announcement and will be available to the general public starting July 24.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Price

The Galaxy Watch 7 starts at $299.99 and comes in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm.

The 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra costs $649.99.

These prices reflect Bluetooth/Wi-Fi only models; LTE costs more.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Features

The prominent features of the Galaxy Watch 7 are as follows:

  • Exercise routine: Stack multiple exercises to help you reach your goals. You can track over 100 workouts.
  • Race: Track your progress by easily comparing your current and past workout performances in real time.
  • Double squeeze movements: This feature allows you to control your watch and Galaxy phone with gestures, making it easier to use hands-free.
  • Body composition: Take a fitness snapshot that will help you understand your body better.
  • Sleep Apnea Detection:This tool checks for possible signs of sleep apnea, and new AI-powered algorithms provide advanced sleep analysis.


Other health monitoring features found on the Galaxy Watch 7 include irregular heart rhythm detection to monitor for atrial fibrillation, heart rate tracking that can alert you to abnormally high or low heart rates, electrocardiogram readings, and metabolic health tracking via the AGEs Index (AGEs are advanced glycation end products).

The Galaxy Watch Ultra comes with unique features like a multisport tile for tracking running, cycling, and swimming workouts. The watch also comes with Samsung’s advanced Personalized HR Zone, which it says optimizes your runs for your body. The Galaxy Watch Ultra can also automatically switch to Night Mode and includes a siren that you can trigger in emergencies.

These watches come with Wear OS 5 and Samsung’s One UI 6 interface.

Like previous Galaxy Watch models, the Watch 7 features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, easy access to Samsung Pay, and a host of other sleep and health-related functions.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Features and Hardware

The 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra has a 1.5-inch 480×480 Super AMOLED always-on display. The Galaxy Watch 7 has the same specs but the case size is 44mm, while the smaller 40mm model has a 1.3-inch 432×432 display.

Galaxy Watch 7 features a new 3nm processor that delivers three times the CPU performance and 30 percent more power efficiency than Watch 6. This means a smoother user experience and better overall stability. It also uses multiple frequency bands for better GPS tracking.

Galaxy Watch Ultra is designed for durability. It has better protection with a new cushion design and Titanium Grade 4 frame. With 10 ATM water resistance and extensive altitude support, you can take it for a quick swim or snorkel from 500 meters below sea level to 9,000 meters above sea level. Galaxy Watch Ultra also features a new Quick Button that you can map to specific exercises or other functions.


According to Samsung, the Ultra model can run for 100 hours in Power Saving mode and 48 hours in Exercise Power Saving mode. It has a 590mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 425mAh (44mm) and 300mAh (40mm) batteries of the Watch 7. All three models support Fast Charging.

These watches have the same 2GB of RAM as their predecessors, but the storage capacity is double at 32GB.

There’s also a new Galaxy Watch 7 wavy band and some new watch faces. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is available in Titanium Silver, Titanium Gray, and Titanium White. The larger Watch 7 comes in Green and Silver, while the smaller model is available in Green and Cream.
