Kendra Scott and Disney Team Up for Minnie and Mickey Mouse Jewelry

Austin-based lifestyle and accessories brand Kendra Scott has teamed up with Disney to offer pieces that combine Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse with designs by Kendra Scott.

The 10-piece collection, which is offered for sale with prices ranging from $65 to $150, includes models such as a Mickey Mouse necklace, Mickey Mouse earrings, Minnie Mouse pendant earrings and a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse tennis bracelet.

“Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, like so many others, were a huge part of my childhood,” said Kendra Scott, executive president and chief creative officer. “They introduced me to a world of everyday magic and possibility, and I’m thrilled to partner with Disney to help you relive that magic and joy.”

According to Tom Nolan, CEO of Kendra Scott, the jewelry collection is aimed at a multi-generational audience across price ranges. He said this was their first collaboration with Disney and when the opportunity arose, they felt it was a good fit for both brands.

“Disney is one of the most iconic brands with an incredible fan base that is passionate about the experience. We see similarities across our fan bases. Disney is known for bringing magic to everyday life, and at Kendra Scott, our mission is to bring joy through our retail experience and product offerings. This collaboration brings together two brands dedicated to celebrating craftsmanship and creativity, always with the customer in mind,” Nolan said.

Even more exciting, she said, is the chance to introduce the Kendra Scott experience to “a broader audience that may not yet be familiar with our brand.”

While Nolan declined to give a volume estimate, he did say that its pre-launch social content saw a 400% increase in engagement. And Insider signup rates, which were three times the daily average, are “a strong indicator of Disney demand.”

The Kendra Scott/Disney collaboration is a multi-collection partnership.

Nolan predicts that the Mickey Mouse necklace and Mickey Mouse earrings will be among the best-sellers.

As a philanthropy-focused brand, Kendra Scott is committed to supporting children’s literacy, a key focus of the brand’s philanthropic efforts. The brand will donate 20 percent of proceeds from the Disney/Kendra Scott Mickey Mouse lanyard to First Book, a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to eliminating barriers to equitable education for children in underserved communities.

The collection will be available starting Thursday at all Kendra Scott stores, online at KendraScott.com and at the Kendra Scott store at Disney Springs, a shopping and dining destination at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. To celebrate the launch, select Kendra Scott stores will host special events featuring exclusive previews and interactive experiences inspired by the Disney collaboration.

On Thursday, a Disney/Kendra Scott Ice Cream truck will serve up a special glitter swirl ice cream in New York City, then make a stop at Kendra Scott’s SoHo store, then Bryant Park. For LA’s Century City, they’ll be offering Century City customers free glitter cotton candy outside the store from 12-2pm PST, and serving drinks and desserts in the store all day. Disney Springs will be offering desserts from Amorette’s Patisserie, another Disney Springs brand, as well as a mimosa cart from 10am-1pm EST.
