OnePlus Nord 4 to get record-breaking six years of software support

OnePlus announced on Thursday that its upcoming Nord 4 will have its longest software support ever, with four generations of Android updates and six years of security updates.

The information was first shared by OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu in an exclusive interview DigitalTrends.

This is a big leap from the OnePlus Nord 3 or OnePlus 12R, which only support up to three years of OS upgrades.

The OnePlus 12 offers four years of Android updates, but is limited to five years of security updates instead of six.

This makes the OnePlus Nord 4 the longest-supported smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker.

“With our smoothness tests, battery health technology, and our longest software update policy ever, we are ensuring OnePlus Nord 4 users will enjoy fast and smooth experiences for years to come,” Liu said in a statement.

The Nord 4 will be launched alongside the OnePlus Pad 2 tablet, OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, and OnePlus Watch 2R at the OnePlus Summer Event. The event will be held in Milan, Italy, and will also be streamed live on the company’s YouTube channel at 6:30 PM ET.

OnePlus hasn’t given much information about the device since its announcement, only revealing that it will have an all-metal body, making it a unique offering, especially in its price range.
