Coahoma Community College Students Shine at National FBLA Conference

(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – Career and Technical Education is proud to announce the participation and success of its students at the National Collegiate Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Conference and Competition held at the Orange County Convention Center.

Representing Coahoma Community College (CCC), Business Office Technology student Tori Anderson competed in Fundamentals of Hospitality Management and Parliamentary Procedures. To qualify to compete at the national level, competitors must place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the state level.

Anderson distinguished herself by placing first in Fundamentals of Hospitality Management and second in Parliamentary Procedures at the state competition. Although she did not place nationally this year, the experience provided valuable experience. The opportunity also helped her connect with other business students from across the country, creating new friendships and professional networks. Anderson graduated in May 2024 with a Joint Degree in Health Data Technology and has been an outstanding student throughout her program.

Office systems and accounting technology instructor Kimberly Hollins received awards during the opening session on Monday night, June 24. For her outstanding dedication and contributions to FBLA, as recognized by her colleagues, she was honored as Mississippi’s Outstanding Local Advisor during the Parade of States and Territories program.
